Haunted Family Night

For family night we decided to do a scary theme...have I mentioned that I love anything scary....I do....I can't seem to get enough of the scary shows on TV... like the "Haunting" or on the travel channel they have the Friday night "Most Haunted"....love love love....creepy right? Well... we started off our haunted family night by going to Lehi to a restaurant called Porter Place. It is very old and very creepy but has great food. Look at the wallpaper, that is scary stuff.

We then made our way to Cold Stone for dessert...OK...not so creepy but we had to buy some time before the real fun began...

We then made our way to the Haunted Forest in American Fork...seriously...this is the best haunted anything I have been to in a long time.

Don't let the boys smiles fool you....they were SCARED....

I took these pictures right before we entered the haunted forest...I wish I would have whipped out my camera during our tromp through the mile long trail but I must admit...I was too busy covering my ears and laughing hysterically as my boys turned into.....GIRLS....yep....they can scream like the best of em...fun night!!

Happy Halloween

Today my boys had their halloween parade and parties...hoo rah...

Connor was "Crazy Wig head".... I was lucky to get him to be that...of course the "wig" came off right after this picture. BTW...the kid next to him is his best friend and older then Connor...let's just say Connor is slightly tall...

Jackson wanted to be scary this year so we got him the costume of the "gauze mummy"....notice all the gauze...and the face that looks like a mummy...hence the name "gauze mummy"....are you scared?

Ethan wanted to be Annakin from Star Wars...after his little accident last week I renamed him "Annakin...after a battle"...no makeup needed today.

Question for ya

Whose child has ever gotten a really great bruise or cut or I don't know...a massive head injury right before school picture retakes....this ones a beauty isn't it? For all of you that have girls out there try not to gasp...this is a day in the life of boys. You see...Ethan had to ride in the neighbors little car...and the neighbor and Ethan thought it would be really fun to push one another down our hill into the road...you heard that right...IN THE ROAD...Well thanks to the curb and a little plastic car rollover and his head stopping the rest of his body from hitting the pavement we didn't have a head on with a larger car...The best part is when I asked Jackson to grab my camera after I got Ethan all cleaned up...(yes...it is clean)... Jackson responded by saying to Ethan...ooh yaa...mom is so taking your picture and blogging this... GUILTY

Nice one...

So I have been sitting here the past ten minutes wondering what I could blog about. I have been PMS ing for the past 5 days...you know...the kind where you hate the world, your kids, husband, and anyone that looks at you. As I sat here pondering I decided to check my e-mails and this little beauty sent by my sister popped up... hope y'all enjoy it as much as I did...

Dear Mr. Thatcher:I have been a loyal user of your Always Maxi Pads for over 20 years andI appreciate many of their features. Why, without the Leak GuardCore(tm) or Dri-Weave(tm) absorbency, I'd probably never go horsebackriding or salsa dancing, and I'd certainly steer clear of running up anddown the beach in tight, white shorts. But my favorite feature has to beenough to realize how crucial it is that maxi pads be aerodynamic. Ican't tell you how safe and secure I feel each month knowing there's alittle F-16 in my pants.Have you ever had a period, Mr. Thatcher? Ever suffered from "thecurse"? I'm guessing you haven't.Well, my "time of the month" is starting right now. As I type, I canalready feel hormonal forces violently surging through my body. Just afew minutes from now, my body will adjust and I'll be transformed intowhat my husband likes to call "an inbred hillbilly with knife skills."As Brand Manager in the Feminine-hygiene Division, you've no doubt seenquite a bit of research on what exactly happens during your customers'monthly visits from "Aunt Flo". Therefore, you must know about thebloating, puffiness, and cramping we endure, and about our intense moodswings, crying, and out-of-control behavior. You surely realize it's atough time for most women. The point is, sir, you of all people must realize that America is justcrawling with homicidal maniacs in Capri pants... which brings me to thereason for my letter.Last month, while in the throes of cramping so painful I wanted to reachinside my body and yank out my uterus, I opened an Always maxi-pad, andthere, printed on the adhesive backing, were these words: "Have a HappyPeriod."Are you f__king kidding me? Does any part of your tiny middle-managerbrain really think happiness - actual smiling, laughing happiness ispossible during a period? Did anything mentioned above sound the leastbit pleasurable? Well, did it, James? FYI, unless you're some kind ofsick S&M freak girl, there will never be anything "happy" about a day inwhich you have to jack yourself up on Motrin and Kahlua and lockyourself in your house just so you don't march down to the local Kmartarmed with a hunting rifle and a sketchy plan to end your life in ablaze of glory. For the love of God, if you just have to slap a moronic message on amaxi pad, wouldn't it make more sense to say something that's actuallypertinent, like "Put Down the Hammer" or "Vehicular Manslaughter IsWrong," or are you just picking on us?Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that, effectiveimmediately, there will be an $8 drop in monthly profits, for I havechosen to take my maxi-pad business elsewhere. And though I willcertainly miss your Flex-Wings, I will not for one minute miss yourbrand of condescending bull s__t. And that's a promise I will keep.Always.Best,Wendi AaronsAustin, TX

Girls night out...dedicated to Melissa

This is dedicated to my cute friend Melissa who decided to post a picture of me on her blog that makes me look like a really ugly hoot owl smokin a cig. So to repay my dear sweet friend I decided to post a couple of pics that I took of her that same evening. Love ya Miss:)

Yep..that is tissue up her nose...

She was laughing so hard she started hacking...

Melissa, Cassie, Rachel and me

We had a little girls night at the Sanctuary. We went there after it was closed and gave each other pedicures. A night chatting and laughing with friends is the best cure for a stressful day or week or month...thanks for the laughs.

Of course I made Kevin pull over so I could take a picture of the boys in the snow...with their shorts on...

We kept driving towards Midway and came to this gorgeous view of the fall leaves..

I have to admit I am a total "love it to be warm" girl but today reminded me of why I love to live here...

SALAD NOT LETTUCE

OK...I just need to say that I LOVE MY ETHAN...I find him truly hilarious most of the time, except when he is beating the crap out of his older brothers..well that can sometimes be pretty hilarious too..but that is besides the point. With that said I have to say that he has a tad bit of a problem with reading..Ok a huge problem with reading...OK he can't read. This brings me to my explanation of my blog title "salad not lettuce". After school we read for 10-15 minutes in books that have been sent home by the teacher. Well todays book was titled "The Barbecue"... Ok.. yesterdays book was titled "pets" and the day before that was "mom"..so how did we skip from "mom" to "Barbecue". Anyhoo...we got to a page that said "the salad"...and for the life of him he could not figure out that word...not only that but he kept saying "the lettuce"...and so it went back and forth for the next 5 minutes...

Me: Ethan..you need to sound out the word

Ethan: Ssssaaalllaaaetuce...

Me: not quite...try it again

Ethan: Ssssaaalllaaaetuce

Me: why do you keep saying lettuce

Ethan: because there is a picture of lettuce

Me: ok lets sound it out again

Ethan: Ssssaaaalllaaatuce...

Me: Ethan the word is not lettuce so please stop saying lettuce

Ethan: BUT THERE'S LETTUCE IN THE PICTURE!!!

Me: ok lets take the picture out of this and just focus on the word...do it again

Ethan: Sssaaalllaaaaddd

Me: YES!!.. good job Ethan..so what did you just sound out?

Ethan: Lettuce

silly kid

This is Ethans bed...cute right? Doesn't look too hard or too soft does it?...Goldilocks would have taken to this bed nicely and slept her little heart out...trust me it's a great bed! Well... I took this picture after Ethan went to bed so where in the world could Ethan be? Hmm..lets scroll down and see shall we?

Yep...there he is...on his bedroom floor surrounded with what looks like a fort of pillows..Now I'm thinking this took quite a bit of time and resources(pillows, blankets, white long pillow thingys) to make...don't you think. So my friends why do you think he is sleeping on the floor? Do you think he worries about falling off the bed or do you think he has nightmares and wants to be closer to his mommy...well you would be wrong..sooo wrong. He sleeps on the floor so he wont have to MAKE. HIS. BED. in the morning. Yep you heard that right. He has come to the conclusion that it takes him less time to put his fort together and away than it would to make his bed in the morning... Sometimes I wonder where this little boy came from and then I look in the mirror and say...GUILTY!

Welcome Venus...I mean Jenn

So I finally talked my cute friend and doubles partner Jenn into blogging...woo hoo...Of course I had to welcome her into the blogging world by posting some amazing pictures of her playing tennis. Notice her amazing form and technique. She has been compared to Venus Williams many times and is truly a threat on the court and not one to be trifled with..isn't that right Jenn?

Just one word of advice for the new blogger.....when a fellow blogger decides to take some pictures of you playing tennis, you can be pretty sure that those pictures will wind up on her blog for all to see...hee hee...isn't this fun! Now blog away Venus!!
